Supporting the People Who Provide Support

PoDDSS delivers training programs and mentoring designed to support participants, families, carers and support staff to better understand behaviour, communication and sensory needs.


These services focus on building practical skills and confidence, helping those providing support respond consistently, respectfully and effectively across home, community, education and support settings.


Training and mentoring can be accessed as a standalone service or used to support the implementation of existing behaviour support strategies, where appropriate.

    No. Training and mentoring focuses on education and skill development for participants, families and support staff. It does not replace behaviour assessments or behaviour support plans but may complement them.

  • Can training be tailored to specific needs?

    Yes. Training and mentoring can be tailored to individual, family or organisational needs and delivered in formats that best support learning.

  • Do support staff receive certificates or documentation?

    Where applicable, confirmation of attendance or supporting documentation can be provided.

How Training & Mentoring Is Delivered

Training and mentoring may be delivered through:
